Instagram feed module

Warning! As of October 15, 2019, Instagram has stop accepting new API application. You will no longer be able to follow these steps. Exisiting Instagram applications should still be working correctly. This article will be updated once an alternative solution for new users is found and implemented.
NEW WORKAROUND! If you do not have an access token that is working correctly and your feed is not being displayed, you can simply delete the Access token, userID and the ClientID and make sure you KEEP your Instagram Username in the settings. This should now display your feed.

Please note that this workaround is not the most reliable workaround as it’s relying on the fact that Instagram doesn’t change it’s website’s structure. I will try to keep this updated as much as I can, but I’m not responsible if the feed stops working in the future. Instagram decided to make it nearly impossible to have their feed displayed at the theme level.

This module will display a feed of your most recent instagram photos. In order to enable this fucntionality, you will need to provide a Client ID, an Access token and your User id.

  1. You will need two main IDs: Your Client ID and your Access Token. To get both, please go this link and follow the instructions given on the page.
  2. In the theme editor, insert your client ID. This ID is usually a code of about 30 letters and numbers.
  3. Insert your Access Token in the first field.
  4. Copy the first characters before the dot of your access token (usually about 10 numbers) and paste this in the User ID field. This is NOT your instagram username.

As a reference you can see this instruction video, but you should follow the instructions from the link above.

Warning! When you register your Instagram application, make sure you follow the instructions exactly as they are and use the mentioned URL for the Webstie URL and Valide URL redirect (https://elfsight.com/service/generate-instagram-access-token/).
